Surrendering Forever

Two hearts surrender
To what can no longer be
                                  A ravaged heart self-deceived

                                        Desire out of breath
                                 Passion’s fever now grows cold
                                    Our words have fallen silent

                                         Grief akin to pain
                                        Surrendering forever
Past the point of no return.
