Sunsets Lost Hope

Slowly she creeps
into the hearts
into the minds
into the mist
of fleeing sun.
Hiding the sheen
of dappled doe
masking the eyes
of prey and foe.
Holding for ransom
a thin moon’s hope
as puppeteer stars
stringlessly float
under canopied darkness
of sunset’s lost hope.
