Sunrise

Crawl out of bed
in the early morning
squint towards the window

Brilliant colors
shower down
orange
pink
red

Piercing to dark sky
changing it
to the dawn
of a new day.

As mom is driving home
later that evening
I look out of the car window
and see the sun
sinking below the tops of the trees

and this time
the colors are different
deeper reds
stronger oranges
and a faint, subtle hint
of a purplish indigo

I watch the trees
swallow the sun
and wonder
if tomorrow
will bring something new

wonderful poetry! I am confused if we are to just pick one or the other or if we may write of both as you did. I had hoped to do both. Guess i will contact the sponsor since he says to pick one or the other. I hope your way is acceptable because I think it deserves a good win.
