Notes About The Poem

poem written based upon this image-online poetry class assignment

Sunny Side Up

sun slips low~ a yolk spread thin across the quiet sky. heat softens the horizon; clouds lift like cooling steam. evening takes the plate, slow and deliberate, as summer finishes its bite.

Such delicious imagism, Sara. The sunset-as-breakfast metaphor is sustained so naturally, and “clouds lift like cooling steam” is especially lovely. A warm, unhurried portrait of summer’s last bite.🌅
