Sunlight of Gold

Sunlight of gold
Dancing on the water
Of the slow paced
River where swans

Swim, get nourished
Play, where the swans
Form a heart when
Their heads touch

External sign of love
Mated for entire life
If one dies the other
Despairs, grief stricken

May love again
But possibly die from grief
Committed love contained
Why can't people watch birds
And do the same

Beautiful write, Sara! Wouldn't it be great if we learned from them rather than having disposable relationships?

Unfortunately not all people, being lost in their wilderness minds, can see the simplistic power of their own Love's inner being, as you, your self. As you can see Love in nature. Keep this depth of innocent perception Sara, it is of the power of your Love. Sincerely, Love, Moses

So nice, Sara. I did hear about swans. they mate for life, right? You did well comparing them to us (or should I say CONTRASTing them to us. ) we need to do the same, as you eloquently stated.Luv, andrea

We could learn so much from nature, if we are willing to humble ourselves long enough. Nicely written, Sara. ~ Carrie

My sentiments, exactly, Sara! Even the animals know what loyalty and devotion is. They know instinctively that there is order in the universe-we humans with all our gifts-free will, intelligence, etc., fail to grasp it and even when we do, we still "choose" to believe the lie that the world began out of chaos-"one big bang". We're disloyal, even to the one person who has given their all to us for years! Sorry, for the preaching!! Great write! Peace, Audrey

Awesome Sara. i've often thought the same about Sand Cranes. They also mate for life. Thanks for this great thoughtful poem. Robert

Amazing image of the heart that's formed by the profiles of the swans, Sara. Very nicely written poem about creatures who mated for life! If you find out why people can't do the same, please share this with us. Great poem! Love, Carolyn (And thanks for your kind words; I'm doing better now.)
