Of the charming flowers, summertime will bring- there's one that looms tall- a stately king. When in bloom, it stands apart- captivates my heart! Sunflower unveils its power. Petals- flames of gold, flare from center dark and bold. Framed by landscape under sunny skies- nature's work of art- showcased before my eyes. This poem is simple but sweet... Feel very sad when they wither away just when rains arrive.. I had a lovely bloom in my garden, when i came back from a short vacation, all died together. it prompted me to write a poem titled Summer Valentine... Do make a visit if you find time and tell me if u liked. Love and good wishes.

Gorgeous flower and a gorgeous poem Sandra! When I was young we used to eat the sunflower seeds from the huge sunflowers that grew wild in the hot fields of Fresno California. We planted seeds and they grew in our yard too. They take such little care and the sunflower seeds have healthy vitamins too. Your tribute to this lovely flower shines as bright as the sunflower's face. Congratulations on your win! : ) xxoo
