Sun Kissed

SUN KISSED I live on the continent of Africa, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa under a fierce, blazing sun, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa where the skies are brilliant blue, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa where our oceans are savage, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa with its glorious white sandy beaches, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa, where the lion, king of the wild roars, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa, a continent of beauty and diversity, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa, a continent of emerging cultural talent, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa, a continent that can boast of it's heritage, I’m sun kissed, I live in Africa where we have vast deserts, I’m sun kissed, I now live in South Africa, our rainbow nation, I’m sun kissed, I belong to Africa and its people, I’m sun kissed.

Hi Jennifer. It was an honor turning to this entry and your page today. I love the power and strength not to mention the voice of this entry. Your line of "I'm sun kissed is executed and utilized perfectly. This is one of those entries to be read out loud with emphasis and feeling. Once again, you are such a skilled composer. Have a wonderful night and weekend. Peace and Blessings always. (smile)

I was born in Athens Greece, (my mom and dad) met just after the war when the British troops landed in Greece and drove out all those horrible Nazi's. My father asked for a posting to Cyprus, and I was about 6 when we came to Africa - fist we lived in Bulawayo and then Salisbury (now called Harare) in the then Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. But my roots i do feel are deeply grounded in Africa, and don't think I could live anywhere else! What a lovely comment you sent me CayCay. Love, kisses, Jenny

Hi there Sylvia, A very different poem from my others, but its words ring in my ears constantly. Thought I would share my thoughts with my fellow poets on poetry soup. Thank you for describing my poetry as sun kissed, as is yours. xoxo
