Summertime Heat

My soul longs for your warmth,
To feel your presence upon my skin,
As I lay there in my waiting,
My nakedness longing for your touch,
Don’t leave me in my darkest hour,
As your shyness hides behind the clouds,
How long will you leave me in the shade?
Your beauty always astounds,
Your presence!
The whole world longs for your attention,
As your roaming continues,
Until the next day dawns,
On your returning visits,
To shine your love for me once again,
Not letting our relationship fade away,
But keeping it forever aglow
Burning me with desire,
As your rays like fingers gently caress.

WoW! This is really good. You speak of the summer sun as a lover. Super personification here. Loved it. A seven from me. God Bless and sorry I was gone for so long. Just got back to my puter.

OH, my, Wendy, I have one very similar in theme to this one in my sonnet collection here. I adore the sun (and fear in my older years the consequences of it). this is wonderful. not sure what place you got, but BIG congrats on a well deserved win.
