SUMMERTIME HEAT-SHM

Summertime heats the birds and bonny boughs. Wings lighthearted and flapping with the breeze. Likewise, the scent of honeysuckles arouse A ring - the wedding bells of buzzing bees. Yet, the downpour of sweat, the pavement roast, Burnt on both sides. Oh never mind… The sun Resounds the flute, and cheers with champagne toast, The budding lips of two becoming one. See! Doesn’t matter! The roses, all in bloom. White cocklebells a gushing veil of June. The butterfly dispels the Winter’s gloom. Lights up bride’s eyes and cricket’s honey moon. Fireflies, amidst the dancing guests, in flight. Fireworks light up the countenance of night. toast the budding lips white cocklebells gushing veil cricket’s honey moon the scent of honeysuckles arouse the fireflies and countenance of night

Wonderfully dwelling in memories of summertime--despite the heat and humidity of the season. On the cusp of winter is a good time to recall that warmth of summer.

Surely it is! I remember the year we had a strong snow storm and my husband was in India. He had a hard time understanding my dilemma because he was not in the least bit cold…lol.

'Oh, never mind' -- excellent! Gotta ignore that sweaty heat and focus on the glory of summertime. (What we did before air conditioning. I can still remember the 1950's, when our home was not air-conditioned). Go for it! ~ gw

Gorgeous writing. I felt like I was outside in summertime, instead of inside keeping warm. :) A pleasure to read!

I liked so many lines and images in your poem, Kim. My favorite was 'butterfly dispels the Winter's gloom, lights up bride's eyes and cricket's honeymoon. So creative. Loved reading your poem. Have a splendid evening, Sara
