Summertime Girls

A delicate framework of filigree curls
                   All dancing in ringlet on summertime girls
A picture as fresh as a zephyr in June
                  As soft as a sunset on meadow, new moon

A stroke of the brush and a smile is reborn
        To flatter the eyes ‘neath her brow’s playful scorn
The mountains and lakes that beset her desire
         Are brimming with life setting young hearts afire 

All gilded in gold like a Rembrandt ballet
            It seems she’s about to have something to say
Her painter, most worthy of diamonds and pearls 
                To capture the essence of summertime girls
