Summertime

Summer so hot and so lazy, Brother went fishing at the lake with bait, Hammer head shark he thought he saw, Number of fish he caught was eight. Lover bugs almost ate me alive, Wonder drugs for the pain I now take, Runner get beer to cool us off, Mother please cook us a steak. Date Written: 6/5/2021

This sounds like summer in the South, Paula. I actually saw two boys reel in a hammerhead shark on the RIVER here. I thought the river was safe for swimming, but sharks travel up from Ponce Inlet. A catch of eight fish must have made for a great dinner. Wish we never brought those love bugs to Florida! I've missed you, but haven't been online (am sick). Enjoyed this poem very much, Paul! Hugs, carolyn
