Notes About The Poem

Man in hammock, Drawing, Lying on top of the hammock man free png ...

Summer's Lazy Netting

Oh each summer one sport ever calls
Though my energy always just stalls
For I'm not but a menace
Playing hot, sweaty tennis
Just knocking the fuzz off old balls ...

So, how slothful can one hot guy be
In a hammock beneath a palm tree
Where all summer, I'll swing
Paying some goose to bring
The fresh ice for my Long Island Tea.

An honour to share the podium with you Gregory. Must say I struggle in the heat and I'd be the one ringing the bell for more ice. Have a great weekend. Tom

Congrats on your win! Iced tea is a great idea under the palm trees! Leave those old balls alone! Good fun!

Gregory, the bard, congratulations for your placement in my contest. Knocking the fuzz off old balls was so cleverly done. Best. Mohan

Says he with a "wry (rye) smile "knocking fuzz off of old balls." So fun to let the mischievous muse go a little wild! Enjoyed it! Good luck in the contest. I think I'm headed for the hammock now!
