Summer Time Sunsets

Summer time sunsets
A smoky haze from the bonfire
Dancing gladiators
As clouds

Smiles hold steady
This is our glorious moment today
And a blessed memory soon
To be

Hidden feelings haunt
Ready to burst like storm clouds
But the moment is
Not right

Reveries and remembrance
Thinking of those who dance in the clouds
Bringing thunder and lightning
And rain

Clouds part for a sea of stars
That capture our hearts and hold our gaze
And the moon winks at
Us all

Eyes meeting eyes may cause a royal flush
In this house of cards
That some may call
Our lives

A sweet kiss may rapture two hearts
And love blossoms before our eyes
Just hold on tight to that
Feeling

Summer time sunsets
The bonfire finally smolders
With the smell of rain so strong it's time to
Go home
