Summer Time

In summer time, I'll roast some hot dogs: and the marshmallows that I desire with the funnest of friends I admire by the flames of a cozy warm fire as the simple but best times transpire. (for Brian Strand's rhyme time list contest)

Hi Andrea, Delightful poem--what fun imagery, and just in time (six years later) for the warm weather. Here's wishing you an uber-belated congratulations on your contest win. Cheers, Brian

strange how Soup is featuring this inconspicuous little poem from long ago, which did not even win in the contest!

You clever girl you keep pulling me here with your thoughtful comments. About Breakdown, no it actually was an ekphrasis which is a poem about a piece of art. It was Jackson Pollock's Orange Head for a Brian Strand contest. It could be used for many who suffer at times being on the edge, depression, etc. I am not here for good reasons, a long emotional process of moving, plus I just became a grandmother (wow-that was a real surprise-but a blessing) so, just busy in life. Thanks again! xoxoxo

Am I invited??? Hehe I'm gate-crashing nonetheless--haha. I love roasted marshmallows, and make it by the seashore too! Ok, I'm getting carried away but I guess it only means that I really enjoyed your poem :) enjoyed my time reading your lovely rhyme ;) btw--about the calendars--there are actually websites where you can customize calendars and have them printed per piece ;) will email you about it...

Good luck with this great list poem. I am glad you liked Wild Life. I just posted The Balckberry and The Rose, which I wrote first and then decided I should tell the other perspective from the Blackberry's viewpoint. Joyce

Oh yes the fun times of summers gone by, may we recapture some more this year. Per your comment: We have this one life, it's a very long one, forever, what we like in spirituality's growth in the now can be continued, in the new earth. Many can't see that, but it is true. Sincerely, Love, Moses
