Summer Surcease






She stood, peacefully on the pier.
The sun, over the hill, just rising.
In her thoughts, just wondering .
As she wiped away, a lone tear.

High school was in a few weeks!
Ambivalence filled her young soul!
As a chilly breeze made her cold.
Would her classmates be nice or freaks?

She promised God to do her very best.
The fish in the lake, mulled about in aquatic 
beauty, yet made nary a sound.
Looked up at her swimming in circles round,
The girl, mesmerized, by the gentle waves, 
knew she was up to all of life's tests!

I guess I take nothing in stride. My life has been exciting, CHock Full Of happiness but many rough and windy roads also I am a fighter not a follower! I can still remember how nervous I was before starting high school, I guess any big change can bring doubts; I also like the feeling of gaining confidence and courage to face life's test head on!

Hi Michelle. I found tons to overcome all my life. Gee,,, Starting HS scared me. Went to an All girls SchOol. Did not do well in Home Ec,))? Big changes are good for us! Have to stretch. Thank you Pangie XXOO
