An unexpected storm dropped our Georgia temperature from 90 degrees F to 73 degrees F. Welcome relief as our air conditioner's not working.

Prelude: OXYMORONIC without air without poetry — cold 7/20/2020 THE SUMMER STORM the roof’s removed, eyes closed a splattering of thunder, lightning, rain no sticks nor stones let it rain, frenetically... Spain* could be no sweeter sounds could be no saltier upstanding fan still spins in unison who needs air conditioning when God orchestrates. the welcome mat’s soaking wet i’m not yet but if i was i have no complaint. i hug the grace God gives me, tell my husband not to stand in front of the screen door his smile i adore 7/21/2020 *Relates to the tongue twister: “The rain in Spain is mainly in the plain”

So much fun to see who wants to run out and dare the storm.

A brilliant write dear friend - God and storms are always thought of together, I love a good storm and watching through a window especially at night, but if it gets almost horrendous, I sometimes think that God is angry with us! I love your poem. Blessings Jennifer.

It was just the right mix, Jennifer! Years ago, at a Durham Bull’s game, I saw the best electric show that God blessed us with. It was like watching a laser show.

Nothing beats a good summer storm to clear and cool the air. Thankfully soup back on the menu lol. Tom
