Summer Rain Contest

At the time, the sun reached its highest peak
The first day, of the seventh month at noon
Clouds covered the Sky and began to leak
A pleasant treat, not a moment too soon
So many prayers were answered that day
To this day, it's called the shower of hope
The sky, a mysterious shade of gray
The very day, their fickle faith awoke
The heat had driven many souls insane
But that would change, thanks to the summer rain

Indeed summer rain is a welcome guest. We could use some here in British Columbia with all our forest fires. I enjoyed your poem.

Wow, Anna this is very beautiful! I have 2 hrs to use the computer now...I got some privileges! But after this weekend I will be using those 2 hrs for school, and Emma will have to get on to read & write for me again, she is so special! Anyway, your write is so spectacular I read it several time with a sense of awe in me! You have delighted me by your incredible skill at writing this Ottava Rima! This isn't an easy form to write, but you did an excellent job at it! Great Work my friend!!

Your comments are always the sweetest! This was my first attempt at an ottava rima. It wasn't as much fun to write as I had hoped. I am trying to step out of my box though. You take care of yourself!! Hugs!
