Summer Rain
Gusting winds storm as fiery clouds advance
twisting, turning, blasting air full of heat,
hosting rhythmic jazz, nature's rowdy dance.
Roof's singing in a snappy twirling beat
as windows flash, thunder poses to prance.
Torrential downpour flooding narrow streets,
cars stall, objects fly, water's climbing knees
amid deafening sound of falling trees.
Tributaries, rivers, rushing downstream.
Watching rain, families gather in glee,
as pets are hiding from the nature's scream.
Soon, the storm begins to fade hastily,
over in blinding speed, like a bad dream.
Sun's shining on hills intermittently.
Roads are draining, people begin to drive
knowing well the next storm could soon arrive.
