Summer Rain

Summer Rain

In the softening light of dull rain swept days,
A blessed interlude from the Summer heat,
A lone song bird in a sudden puddle plays
On the sweet scented earth or the rain washed street.
And the sun warmed withered leaves, once scorched and dry,
Drip with rainbow jewels under Payne’s Grey sky.
Passing breezes hurry rainy clouds along,
Giving way to melodies of Summer’s song.

      Rispetto	a-b-a-b-c-c-d-d

Barry this is so cool, the sights and sounds of a summer rain; awesome plus I learned a new form ~ rispetto. Must try it.

This poem is simply gorgeous Barry! I love the playful imagery of the songbird bathing in the puddles after the rain. Your imagery is so clear and lovely I feel like I am there in the scene. A fave from me on this beauty! : )
