Summer Rain
Summer Rain
In the softening light of dull rain swept days,
A blessed interlude from the Summer heat,
A lone song bird in a sudden puddle plays
On the sweet scented earth or the rain washed street.
And the sun warmed withered leaves, once scorched and dry,
Drip with rainbow jewels under Payne’s Grey sky.
Passing breezes hurry rainy clouds along,
Giving way to melodies of Summer’s song.
