Summer Rain

dark clouds gather round collide in the sky~ igniting fireworks wisps of rain dripping dry land sucks greedy~ belch of steam rises plants stand in despair like children in bath~ not allowed to splash Up to You Poetry Contest Sponsor- Brian Strand

A very profound message through those much felt metaphors, insightful Valsa which I love the most about this haiku.

'Planets like children in a bath' has me smiling, Valsa. Since I don't see 'Soup Mail' at the top of your site, I just want to mention that I think -- I could be wrong -- that you might want to reverse the first two words in the last line of this poem: i.e., 'Not allowed to splash.' Thanks for reading, and G.L. in the contest! Cheers, Gershon

God must have been in a rush as if rain is preceeded by sprinkles, it can sink into and nourish the earth instead of washing everything away . . . . .Enjoyed!

Summer rains are mostly drizzles and the dry Earth and plants don't get enough to quench their thirst! But when it rains, it rains cats and dogs! There is no moderation....! God seems to be too much in a rush to plan things meticulously.... Thank you Rico
