Summer of Love

I wanna go back to twenty two.
After leaving Australia.
To that time I traveled with you.
Through South East Asia.

Especially that beach in Phuket.
Golden sands on golden days.
'Twas the place we first met.
Beguiled me with your loving ways.

Snorkeling in azure blue seas.
Rainbow fish darting in a race.
I was surprisingly pleased
you slipped your arm around my waist.

We had not even said "Hello".
Yes..that's the place I wanna go.

Time might not be coming back Anna-Lise, but there's nothing to stop me going back there. Even if this time it's doubtful anyone will want to slip their arm around my waist. What waist??

Thank you Eve. I am having big trouble adjusting to old age. In my head, that's still me. In reality, I could fit almost two of me into this outer skin now.

Thank you Ilene. We all have those moments in time that are so special they "flash upon that inward eye which is the bliss of solitude."

Thank you Jan. Just tonight I was thinking what's to stop me retracing my steps? Flights are much cheaper nowadays. Just as my daughters do now when they travel, I could use Airbnb. I don't have long to go to retirement. All I'd need is a bit of gumption.
