Summer Is Leaving Us
The beautiful days
spent under bright sunshine
are getting shorter;
clouds change from white
to pink and travel far.
Summer is leaving us
and seeing us sad,
they linger a bit longer
to suddenly disappear
into specks of light that
later will become stars,
and staring at them with childish eyes,
we'll dream of nightly twinkling skies!
Summer is leaving us in a whirlwind;
can we stop time from escaping,
from slowing down its rush with a strong plead?
No, we must taste the bitterness
in a goodbye of a season so delightful and pleasing,
so loved on those butterfly-chasing afternoons:
barefoot and delirious running on sand dunes...
before we fell down and started kissing!
