Summer Hurries By

Summer hurries by, Through green and brown To gold and dust, they die, The leaves which summer had caressed And breathed upon and gently brought To all the stirring shades of autumn. The seasons now embrace, Each bids a fond farewell As teardrops freeze They part, warm hand in hand of ice, And cheek to frosty cheek.
