Summer Fun

Summer Fun While gazing at the summer sky watching lazy clouds drift by Birds on wing join the view floating high up in the blue Through the trees a soft warm breeze keeps tickling all those bright green leaves The time is now, soak up some sun laugh and play and have some fun Frolic in those water waves to cool off on the hottest days Build sand castles, swim and ski enjoy it any way you please The fun continues when the sun retires as we party around those big bonfires Talking, laughing, new friends made join in now, don't be afraid Indulge in memorable season delights Summer fun doesn't stop when the day turns to night.

Hi Heidi, exactly. I wrote it for the first day of summer, always hoping people will go outside and enjoy it, without cell phones, computers, video games, TV .... . Thank You :)

Well, I guess that answers my question. :) You are so right my friend, it is summer and time to have fun. Everything you mentioned sounds so inviting and something I can't wait to indulge in. Happy to answer your question :) Speaking of chasing fireflies, I was thinking about those too when I wrote this, but my thoughts went to how few I see now (along with bees and butterflies) whenever I am watching for them in the dark. They used to be so many, like twinkling lights, but now there a great spaces between with so many less. Thank you so much my friend, Happy summer to you also :)

This sounds like so much fun, that I ALMOST start loving the summer :) Almost, because I am a winter person! Such a lovely poem, Lenna. I can see it happening, especially the swimming sounds wonderful.
