Summer Afternoon

summer afternoon
palest blue sky dotted white...
a thunderstorm ripped by screams

policeman lies pale
scarlet blood saturates shirt...
tear stains upon children's clothes

twenty years have passed
memories lie buried deep...
news report opens sutures

Just when you think that things are slightly better; history begins to repeat itself. An excellent piece, Sara.
