Sugar Coated

falling fast
.. and hard
drifting in the winds
blind-sided
this innocence
quickly finding ground
beneath the blankets
of sugar coated truth
as it lies at my feet
erasing the shadows
and my steps
down that path

Ooh! Isn't the truth so often, too often, sugar-coated, blanketing the pain and blinding our eyes and hearts?... Nicely 'scribbled,' Madame Chauffeur! :) gw

Even your bus scribble is articulate my friend--message well delivered, Sandy.

Always such creative beauty flows from your pen my friend. Seems you are in the grip of winter up there and if you are writing bus scribbles then that means you must be driving so be careful if those roads are sugar coated as well.

the buses and cars were "sugar coated" this morning... the roads were icy in many areas... all day snow squalls came through in momentary whiteouts, turned everything white and as quickly as they came, they left... melted, then the next hit... it was an interesting day to drive a bus...i'd rather drive it with 6 inches on the ground then these annoying squalls... Thank you so much Chris... hugs

This is another strong metaphor, I guess if snow is sugar coated I should like it...but alas...I don't! This winter is already too long. Nice scribble Sandy, my scribbles really are scribbles, this is way above a scribble!

thank you John...i hate snow and winter too... the cars and buses literally looked like they were sugar coated this morning... we have been lucky so far this winter as far as major storms but had little ones... today we had snow squalls moving through all day... white out one minute, melted the next... bus scribbles got the name because when i am sitting alone and bored if my muse is inspired by nature around me i write something very quickly...less than 5 minutes...so a scribble... thank you for being the first brave comment :) hugs
