Sue's Night In Jail
Sue's Night in Jail
By Elton Camp
Sue was preparing to settle in for the night
When a knock on her door gave her a fright
"Open up and we're not telling you any more.
Unless you do, we will break down the door."
"Who is out there?" poor Sue fearfully cried
"It's the police, so come let us get inside!"
Sue opened the door, trembling with fear
Two burly policemen stood with a leer
"We're told the mattress tag you dared remove.
To obey the law it would most surely behoove."
"And according to what our informant did say
You are hanging toilet paper the wrong way."
"Disrespect of the law we just can't permit.
So a night in the pokey, your crimes will fit."
"Now, to remain silent you have the right
Anything you say may well get you in a tight."
When she made bond and finally got out,
A valuable lesson she'd learned without doubt
From then on, any wrongs, she came to expect
That it was really possible the cops might detect
