Notes About The Poem

Suddenly

     Suddenly I was caught
In the whirlwind of you.
     Tumbling, tumbling...
My heart beating faster
     Flying, soaring the heavens.

The universe in its vastness
     Swallowed me.
Your brilliance penetrated
The darkness as a distant star
And I felt myself being pulled
     Into orbiting around you

Eternally seeking to be eclipsed
     By your grandeur and beauty,
To be warmed by your nearness
     And kissed by your light.

I missed this gem! It glides, Connie, absolutely. I felt the emotional soaring, orbiting and tumbling. You took me to that dizzy, intoxicating feeling one can get from love, and I LOVE going there. Congrats on your placement ... CayCay

Your images sing with beauty, romance, and magic. The great thing is that although he may not understand the poetry, I am sure he understands the look in your eyes, only for him.

This is a hauntingly beautiful poem that poetically draws on the allure of nature, the sun and the stars to express the essence of love. Your feelings come through strong and straight from the heart where most good poetry is born. Emile #7

Wow Emile, this is why I love to read your poetry so much. You not only understand poetry down to its core but you express poetry in your verses with such intensity to coax tears from so many who read your work. It makes me very happy that you truly understood what I was striving to convey in my little humble poem. Thank you so much Emile. Blessings, Connie

Yes, the universe is all about love and being in love is like opening a door to that vastness. Love, alike the universe, cannot really be understood. It just is. This is what I get from your fine poem. Love, daver

He didn't understand it at all Richard. But then again he is not a poet. I believe we live in our own world sometimes. I didn't mean to underestimate you, for sure. You write with profound understanding and insight Richard. Thank you and blessings, Connie
