Epulaeryu
"Epulaeryu," translates to a form of feast, or a style of feast. Created by Joseph Spence, Sr. The poem is about delicious food and drinks. It consists of seven lines with a syllable count of 7-5-7-5-5-3-1 (a total of 33 syllables). the 7th line of one syllable ends with an exclamation mark. Each line has one thought relating to the main course with the ending line expressing the excitement or feelings about the meal.
A succulent prime-rib roast
thickly sliced, blood rare,
a baked potato topped with
sour-cream, chopped chives
and melted butter,
a gourmet
feast!
