Stuff the 'Dying with Dignity' Act

Stars go out with a bang
     A candle's flame's intense
       the moment before it's extinguished

   And so, too, Buckingham Fountain*
     springs up like a geyser
just before it's tucked in bed for the night

That's how I want to go
     gathering my strength
       and exploding into
          a thousand glittering pieces

Me too Mr. Wolf.I want to ride out on the crest of a wave if I must go wearing red cow girl boots. Not laying prone on my belly lamely paddling about in the shallows awaiting the unwelcome and unwanted visitor .

Great imagery and ideas to drive home your message. Not everyone is strong enough to die with a bang. Some who wither within illness may beg to differ. When I go I hope to not cause those around me more pain. But death is likely painful for all no matter the method time or circumstances. Great poem Gershon!
