Stuff of Poetry

Made from the stuff of verse
My soul bleeds imagery
Fashioned with pen
Created with paper
And moulded by word
I am the stuff of poetry

Cut by the
Pauses, rhymes and beats
That shaped me
Surrender to the hardened, ink-
infested fingers of my creator
My spirit was formed in her
palms
Poetry my maker

A descendant of zulu praise
names
The daughter of sonnet and
ballad
I was raised by slam, syllables,
solliloqouys,
Tribute to the village that raised
me
I am the stuff of poetry
