The following poems are a study in poetic form using variations of the same theme, that of sisters.  The use of titles of songs by "The Veronicas" of which I found to be moving was my prompt and are included in each of the poems, and with which I wish to pay homage to these two sisters and their music.  They are as follows:

Song Titles by “The Veronicas”
-Speechless-,-Heavily Broken-,-You Ruin Me-,-Let Me Out-,-You and Me-,-In Another Life-,-I Can't Stay Away-,-Worlds Apart-

A Quatrain of sisterly love gone astray.  Imperfect rhyme in last quatrain, second and forth lines.

Heavily broken our love is but a token, from words left unspoken, you ruin me. Your vow betoken my soul is now oaken, as I'm left heartbroken, you don't seem to see. My world has gone gray with these games that you play, the price that I pay, as my mind fills with doubt. You've lead me astray, but I can't stay away. There's nothing more to say, so please, let me out. In another life, maybe, you and me could possibly be, but now the pain's ceaseless. Just set me free and perhaps you will see, worlds apart are we, yet, you leave me ...speechless. 08/15/2019

I really like the rhyme scheme in this and how it all flows so smoothly together, which is not always easy to do... Very nice work James!

Thank you for visiting Kelly. I like writing with this rhyme in 10 to 12 syllable lines. They naturally break after each internal rhyme and in my opinion give a smooth cadence to each line. Thank you.

Hi Silent One, its been a while. Thanks for the visit. I spend a lot of time driving with work and have been listening to the Veronicas and similar music a good deal lately. I think their song titles are quite moving. I enjoy all of the ones I listed here and several more including "Born Bob Dylan," "Everything I'm Not," "When it all falls apart," and others. Thanks again.
