Stuck In the Rut
The world tells you to be different,
But teaches you to fall in line..
One brave step,
And it rushes in with dream- killing missionaries..
Ripping back the fancy curtains,
It Displays the reality lurking in the shadows..
Promising home and safety,
It dupes you into thinking survival is happiness..
And it continues its onslaught,
Over and over again..
It beats you into submission,
Until it wins!
Until the yearning to be free,
Stirring in your soul is lulled back to sleep,
With bone-chilling finality..
