Stubborn

I know what I want.
I want what I know.
Forgetting the things,
That allow me to grow.

Not caring a bit,
To stay in one place,
Enjoying the view,
Not in for the race.

So leave me alone.
I’m sure I’ll get by.
To stay in one spot.
Not questioning why.

Don’t make me move on.
I’ll do as I please.
And not getting far,
With thoughts such as these.

The individualism of your poem speaks to many of us. Well penned! Best wishes, Brian
