Stronger
I always thought I walked alone
wondering in the darkness
stranded on my own
held captive by the things I kept inside
words I could never say
things I could never do
they shrouded everything about me
I kept people at a distance
couldn't will myself to let anyone in
but im slower getting stronger
no longer on my own
friend and family support me
walking by my side
im standing firmer now
not trying to please everyone
while leaving my own need behind
im finally speaking up
saying what's on my mind
no longer standing in the shadows
iv been pulled into the light.
