Strong Coffee
Strong coffee
bitter in its drip
black and hot slow sips,
aroma enhanced
aged on the tongue umami
delightful and indulgent tsunami,
a caffeine high
waking from the midnight dark
to morning wide-eyed sparks,
coffee
a burnt umber brew
greeting every day anew.
