Striving to be a Better Person
Cared for with parents’ loving gesture
Verily nourished by Dad and Mom's nurture
Even at the start, raised up in a family around grace-pasture
I am taught to strive toward triumphant faith adventure…
Thank You, God... that You want me want to be a better person*.
Though my human nature shows heart that’s vain
Driven by pride along greed’s terrain
Here am I confessing my sinfulness pain
Please forgive me with pardon's gain…
Thank You, God... that You want me want to be a better person.
Sometimes, I feel being a victim or a culprit of hate
Midst selfish and covetous bait
So, I admit my wretchedness at grand rate
Help me, and transform me from my carnal state…
Thank You, God... that You want me want to be a better person.
I don't want to miss the joy of paradise
Around hypocrisy's deception-device
Make me become spiritually wise
While I beseech Your divine price…
Thank You, God... that You want me want to be a better person.
Today, I want to offer You my utmost best
While by Your grace, I walk toward righteousness-crest
Sharing, caring by Your compassionate zeal and zest
Testifying about Your goodness midst my new creature-status* You have blest....
Thank You, God... that You want me want to be a better person.
