Strength For the Journey

Three men came to a halt 
In the middle of the road
After walking only a mile
Stopping to rest from the load
And to sit side by side

Of the road that they travelled on
There was was none else to see
There were just these three
They could depend on one another
Whatever came their way

One step at a time they knew 
They had the strength to go on
To carry the load they bore
They had the the strength to go
On the journey as long as time 
Allowed them the strength
To carry the load and each other 

They could depend on the strength 
Of their company and the knowledge 
That they would never fail each other
For their friendship and love was strong 
And kept them on the path of grace

Strength of love to carry the load
They had been given by lifetime 
Strength to carry one another 
Strength to point and lead 
The way out of toil and plight
To the land of delight 

But they know they must go this way
For the journey makes them strong
Now they are ready to face 
The giants of any land
And they are ready to conquer
