Strangers In the Night

Our eyes meet in purple shadows close to the sacred shrine beneath a forest canopy Footsteps cross the river on bridges which aren't there Mist shroud tall pine trees a grey owl hoots behind the wooden bench of broken promises Roses blossom in a hopeful whisper of a birthing petal without a thorn The heart beats slowly to the last sound of music Leaves turn yellow in tarnished dreams And tomorrow? tomorrow i do not know you tomorrow we would be strangers And tomorrow our dancing memories will all be gone.
Charma This isn't a recent poem,It is something i scribbled in notes, and decided to adjust and share now :)thanks.

For some reason, this reminded me of Robert Browning's "Meeting at night". A magical feel, Charmaine and a beautiful meeting place. Thanks for stopping by to read my rain haiku. love, gautami

Dear Charma, it's so nice to see you back on the Soup. This is an extraordinary free verse. Sometimes our best works are scribbled on cocktail napkins. I hope life is going well for you and that you are very happy. My health issues continue, but I am handling them as best I can. Thanks for asking. Love you, Carolyn

Dear John,Ruben is just a good poet friend like you and my female poet friends. This poem has nothing to do with anybody, its a poem i wrote once upon a time, when i wanted to express 'sad' and a big part of it is fiction..Thanks for reading-Charma
