Notes About The Poem

On January 16, 2026, about 16 inches of rain, combined with hurricane-force winds and temperatures hovering around 60 degrees Fahrenheit, fell on my hometown of St. John's, Newfoundland. Very unusual weather for my part of the world, especially at this time of year!

Strange Tempest

Just yesterday, there was a rain storm;
t'was also unseasonably warm.
There were hurricane winds.
We were all so chagrined
'cause in winter, that's just not the norm!
