Straight Talking

We are all broken people.
We are all flawed human beings.
Please don’t tell me that you carry no shame.
Please don’t tell me that your soul does not burn.

The dark road is long for the guilty.
The dark road is longer for the fool.

For I am broken and I know pain.
I forced a change behind my eyes.
Please don’t lie about your own pain.
Please don’t try to fool these foolish eyes.
Because I know how to see through to the deep pain.
Because I used all the foolish lies.

AYP, Such a truth told in your poem 'Straight talking'. Though no rule was ever made that wasn't meant broken. A wise man once said if you're not cheating you're not trying. -Richard
