Storm's Demise
Desire sparked passion's flame,
yet lately, nothing seems clear.
And your heart cannot fathom
how love could just disappear.
Restricted to wishful dreams,
hope's no longer in control.
For your reality changed,
when anguish ravaged your soul.
He watched your heart slowly break,
never averting his eyes.
And still, you believed in him,
up to the final goodbyes.
Tethered to wishes and dreams,
you cannot cut yourself free.
And anxieties persist,
for doubt will not let you be.
Like a damaged derelict,
you await the storm's demise.
For a sea of tears can't wash
away a mountain of lies.
