Whatever you had in mind, Susan, I have derived my own picture from these lines: I see giant waves rising upwards, forcibly, against the high cliffs. This same picture can be interpreted metaphorically with reference to a person who stands undaunted by the ups and downs of life. ~ Warm regards // paul

I do enjoy your dual interpretations, Paul, both are dramatic and wonderful. You, my friend, leave no stone unturned as well. It seems that you have found yourself at a crossroads, something that you are so expert at creating in your own poems and a pleasant destination that I have arrived at many times in reading your intriguing and beautiful poetry. Thank you for your thoughtful musings and your lovely friendship. ~Susan

Thank you Andrea! I played with the words for a bit to get just the right hard edginess to them to oppose the smoothness of the last line. I'm glad you noticed the sound of the words in this Haiku. When i was working on this it was like I could hear a chisel on stone too! Much appreciation :)
