Stories Memories and Fears
at the cancer clinic
a roomful of strangers
patients like him, like us
i see their faces and wonder
what's behind those eyes
a little glazed over
it's all too overwhelming
everyone hiding a lifetime
of stories memories and fears
a buzzing sound of murmurs
hushed by the pulse of
our own heartbeat
pulsating pounding
