Notes About The Poem

Stories At Teatime

My brother and I are well-loved Teddy Bears We come from a line of fine Teddy Bear stock Our human appears to have no worldly cares She likes having tea parties and loves to talk We come from a line of fine Teddy Bear stock There's tea every morning, we both lend an ear She likes having tea parties and loves to talk No one's in a hurry, that's perfectly clear There's tea every morning, we both lend an ear Rebecca is sweet and tells stories so grand No one's in a hurry, that's perfectly clear When each story's done, we applaud as we stand Rebecca is sweet and tells stories so grand Our human appears to have no worldly cares When each story's done, we applaud as we stand My brother and I are well-loved Teddy Bears

John, I love that you brought human characteristics to this verse , that is what made the verse special; you were the only one that did. Congratulations on your win. Hugs Eve

We'll have to have your teddy bears call my teddy bears to set up a little gathering! Thanks for the lovely comment, Michelle!

How cuddly and bear-tastic:) Love the lines 'She likes having tea parties and loves to talk' and 'When each story's done, we applaud as we stand' - you have brought this darling picture to magical life - now I want to pull my stuffed animals out of storage and have my own tea party!
