Stoplight In The Rain

orbs talk to the streets;
a rhyme that moves then breaks.
f i r s t  s e c o n d  t h i r d s
held to wind; she sways
as night fizzes off a girl's tears

that burn open, the

with water taken bright —
run through this light;

she slips then slides.

you've taken an ordinary object and made it extraordinary. Nicely done, Paige. Wishing you well.

Captivating and enchanting, Paige. What an original and intriguing perspective on the relationship of such an ordinary object as a stoplight to our journey each day on the road of life with it's stops, cautions and "gos!" The rain makes the lights more intense. Love this one! Definitely a fav! Blessings!

Gosh! Quite the imagery here dear Paige! Left me breathless somehow ~ the way you craft such concise, crisp yet dense poems, really has me awestruck everytime and I really admire your prowess in creating these ever so effortlessly! Your micro poems always make me go wow!!! "orbs talk to the streets; a rhyme that moves then breaks. held to wind; she sways;" those opening lines are just enough to captivate anyone's heart.. so deep and emotive and profound! And the ending! So good! Pleasure reading. Sending you light and best wishes always ~

Not good to slip and slide. One time I hit black ice and found myself completely spun around facing traffic in the other lane over the island!

Incisive verse on spotlight, Paige. Interesting last two words which gives some optimism - depending where she slides to. Have a good week. X
