behind the camera
scenes comes to life
click of the shutter
opens to capture the light

eye distinguishing
yielding lights and shadows
in black and white
a stolen flawless piece of time,
a study in still life
kept captive, alive for all time

entangled in the mine
relieving memories of the past
photos unblemished echo

captivating the present
softly appealingly
art works of inspiration
place In a frame on the wall or in an album

Photography can keep our memories "alive for all time", so we can share them with future generations... You've done a really great job with this theme. I can see the picture so clearly! Congrats on the win!

Congratulations, Eve. Love the way the poem elevates the trifles of every-day snapshots to art, just like black-and-white photography does.

This is a fitting poem to go with the black & white theme, Eve. Each photo is a 'stolen' split of a second which, in return, can last for ages. Best of luck! // paul

Thank you, Paul, for your encouragement. At first, many Native Americans were wary of having their photographs taken and often refused. They believed that the process could steal a person's soul and disrespected the spiritual world. Blessings & hugs
