Stillness of the Night
STILLNESS OF THE NIGHT
In the stillness of the night, my mind races like a mad
woman, all these thoughts running, rambling in my head.
I find sleep so elusive, aloof and distant and no matter how
I try, it is unreachable that I pray and pray to quiet my mind.
In the stillness of the night, in its darkness and quietness,
I don’t move, don’t make a sound and yet, find my mind
restless, wandering from one thought to another, unable
to silence, empty it for hours… only then I reach stillness.
