Notes About The Poem
"Beautiful over my pathway
The forest spoils are shed
They are spotting the grassy hillocks
With purple and gold and red."
William Cullen Bryant _My Autumn Walk

Stillness of An Autumn Walk
Walking the Autumn forest heals,
as squirrels dig for nutty meals;
on this lovely but chilly day,
where bright colors nature reveals.
Wildflowers still growing so gay,
and song birds move like a ballet;
the tangled path wonderful still,
I even love the leaf decay.
From a hidden tree a loud shrill,
this path is leading me uphill;
and wind sweeps the gold and red;
I hug myself in the morn' chill.
Like a patch blanket the leaves spread,
vines are drying and hang like thread;
soon, all will be resting in snow,
forest trees stand bare looking dead.
