Notes About The Poem

STILLNESS 2

When I grow silent enough
the Word becomes
a shoreline of peace.

Verses drift through me
like light on water,
shimmering without effort.

*In Him we live and move
and something in me
finally remembers how to breathe.

*passage from Acts 17:28

In Him we move and have our being. When we are just being and not doing which should remind us to slow down from time to time. I like this one, Sara B., thank you for sharing it with us to remind us we need to just be sometimes for total relaxation. Sara K.

So well-composed poem with deep layers of imagery. Silence is indeed the core of wisdom, dear Sara.

In Christian meditation, silence does not mean an absence of sound and movement. Unlike the concept of Nirvana, Silence is complete conscious oneness with God. The Christian adept seeks elevation of all senses within the Divine. "*In Him we live and move and something in me finally remembers how to breathe." A FAV!
